Truth dies not because of liars but because the truthful people do not dare or come forward to defend it”—Dr T Hanuman Chowdary.

In these columns on Friday and Saturday last week I had presented the first and second part of the historic Hindu Manifesto drawn up by Dr T Hanuman Chowdary.

In this article, I propose to present the last part of his ‘Hindu Manifesto’ and also refer to another outstanding paper by him titled ‘Hinduism & Bharat under Peril: Action Program Proposed.

Through his dedicated life, example and writings, Dr. T. Hanuman Chowdary has given a cubic content to the following immortal lines of poetry of the great American poet James Russell Lowell (1819-1891):

They are slaves
Who dare not be
In the RIGHT

With two or three!
I present below the third and last part of his ‘Hindu Manifesto’:

4.14 Expulsion of aliens: Tens of millions of Bangladeshi Muslims and Pakistanis are illegally staying in this country. Complaints/information about the presence of aliens in this country must be immediately investigated and the aliens thrown out of this country. If the country of their origin does not accept them, they must be impounded in certain areas as enemies captured. The onus of proof of their citizenship of India and their nativity of India, should be put on them.

4.15 Rama Sethu & Ram Mandir: These are of vital importance to the Hindus. They are part and parcel of the thinking, awareness, cultural spiritual consciousness and heritage of every Hindu. The construction of Ram Mandir in the Janmasthan in Ayodhya and the preservation of the Ramasethu at Rameswaram are vital for the integrity of this country, of the nation-hood of our people, and for the preservation of self-respect of all the people of India. Ram Mandir should be allowed to be built and the Ramasethu should not be interfered with.

4.16 Urdu University: The Maulana Abdul Kalam Azad National Urdu University in Hyderabad is uniquely privileged in that while the Telugu University, or that matter the Punjab University or such Language Universities in all the States are not allowed to affiliate colleges outside the state, the Urdu University can affiliate Urdu colleges outside Andhra Pradesh. Also, while all the other Language Universities are not allowed to offer professional courses in English medium, the Urdu University is free to do so. This means that because it is the language of Muslims it is given a special privilege, a privilege which is not given to Hindu language universities. This is impermissible, obnoxious and insufferable discrimination against the Hindus. The Urdu university should have only that kind of status that is given to the Telugu university, the Tamil University, the Marathi University and such other Language Universities.

4.17 The implementation of Sachar Committee recommendations would lead to the State-guided, State-directed, State-controlled deprivation of Hindus and Muslimisation of India through the process of creation of Muslim Majority Districts (deliberately promoted by fast breeding and ingathering and infiltration) with autonomy for such Muslim Districts (like in Kashmir) leading to their eventual Pakistanization. What Sardar Vallabhai Patel did by integrating hundreds of States, would be undone through the likely creation of such Mini Pakistans in India. Therefore the Sachar Committee Report must be consigned to National Archives and not acted upon at all.

4.18 Reciprocal Treatment of Minorities: State persecution of Hindus in the successor States of India, Pakistan & Bangladesh must be brought out before International forums by the Government of India which should take the bold initiative of demanding humane reciprocal treatment of Hindus in minority in their respective Islamic countries on par with the humane treatment meted out to the Muslims in minority in India.

5. Hindus must consider these matters as vital for the preservation of their religion, culture and the territorial ntegrity of what remains as Bharat to them today. Their votes should be given only to such political parties and candidates who are committed to the implementation of this HINDU MANIFESTO.

In his article: ‘Hinduism & Bharat under Peril: Action Program Proposed’, Dr T Hanuman Chowdary has raised the following additional points/issues:

A. Nowhere else in the world’s democracies is a majority community like that of Hindus in India has been discriminated by successive Governments in favour of strident, globally connected religious minorities belonging to Islam and Christianity. Nowhere else in the world does the majority community feel threatened and is continuously undermined by the open or sometimes surreptitious Minority Vote-Courting or Coveting by the Political Parties/Government. Since Islam and Christianity are monotheistic faiths organized through Masjids/Churches/Missionaries, the people belonging to such faiths often react as one man on controversial issues and try to intimidate or overawe the Hindus in majority in India. The sad fact is that the Hindus are not able to act as a community, even when their faith and its cultural symbols are threatened and destroyed. Successive Governments of India in New Delhi after independence, excepting perhaps the NDA, have been hostile to the Hindus and shamelessly submissive to the intimidating and terrorizing religious minorities.

B. Militant political Islam is undermining the integrity of what remains of Bharata Khanda. Evangelizing and proselytizing Christianity is undermining the faith of Hindus in their religion and culture. Thus Hindus and Bharat are under a two-pronged war. This war is either aided or abetted by all the Secularism-Professing Political Parties competing for the minority votes.

C. Countering the Multi National Conversion (MNC) Enterprises. Thousands of Pastors with upto half a dozen full time assistants are going from village to village, engaging in conversion activity, often reviling Hindu Gods and Hindu practices. They are joined by foreigners from Australia, America, curiously from Korea and other countries. They are coming on tourist Visas and are buttressing the Pastors in their nefarious activities. To effectively counter their activities, we must have bands of Anti-Pastors (APs). We may find an appropriate harmless name for the Anti-Pastors. They must have intelligence & vigilance units which will keep watch on the movements and activities of the proselytizers and evangelists. Wherever they go, the AP Squad must go trailing them. When they open their mouths, APs also should open their mouths. Enough literature about the deceptions and activities and misdeeds of Christianity and its past must be copiously available with these bands of AP Squads. AP Squads must consist of full timers like the Christian Pastors themselves and the bands.

D. Temples to foster feeling as a community: There must be a movement for entry of Harijans into our temples and also to train them as priests. We must organise cultural activities like bhajans, observance of festivals around our temples just like Ganapathi & Durga festivals. This is to foster a fraternal feeling of community among the Hindus.
E. Confronting political Islam: We must agitate for surveillance over all religious schools like Madrassas, Seminaries and Pathasalas. At District and Taluk level Committees consisting of intellectuals locally available should be constituted who should have the freedom to visit, observe and monitor what is being taught in the Madrasas, seminaries, Christian schools and Hindu Pathasalas. Whatever material that is used there for instruction which speaks derogatorily of other religions, or promotes violence and disaffection must be got expunged. Also, there should be surveillance over undesirable elements taking refuge in these institutions.
F. Bangla Moslem Invasion: We are inundated by Bangladeshi Muslims. They could be seen not only in West Bengal & Assam but even in states like Andhra Pradesh and its remote towns like Mahboobnagar not to speak of Visakhapatnam, Hyderabad, Karimnagar, Warangal etc. As soon as we suspect and are reasonably sure that a person is a Bangladeshi or Pakistani, we should report to the Police and publicize this fact by giving the name of the person, where he is staying and employed and how, in what work he is engaged etc. We should agitate that governments must record the information given by citizens about the persons suspected to be Bangladeshis or Pakistanis or for that matter other aliens and take effective action to arrest and expel/imprison the anti-national infiltrators.

G. We should restore the Swadeshi Movement of 1905/06. That is we must boycott the goods and services of all who are traitors to India openly as well as covertly. These people should not be employed in any of our enterprises.

H. Intellectual activity: The falsehoods, the myths and the atrocities of the Semitic religions must be intellectually looked at, criticized and contrasted with Hinduism.

I. Journalism: Most importantly, just as communists and these days, Muslims are being specially trained as journalists and infiltrated into many newspapers and periodicals, there must be a similar or counter effort on behalf of the Hindus. For giving right news and correct analysis, we Hindus should have TV channels and news papers in different languages especially in English.

When I see the extraordinarily bold and fearless approach of Dr. Hanuman Chowdary towards complicated and intractable national problems of India, I find that he seems to draw his inspiration from the words of a remarkable English Poet called William Earnest Henley (1849-1903) who said:

In the fell clutch of circumstance
I never winced or cried aloud
Under the bludgeoning of chance
My head is bloody but unbowed!

It is not therefore surprising to see how the great and veteran journalist of India M V Kamath paid his great tribute to Dr T Hanuman Chowdary in these words: “Dr T Hanuman Chowdary is that rare intellectual in India who has the courage to be his own man and has the courage to think for himself. In a country where independent thinking is at a sad discount, Dr. Chowdary has for years been challenging prevalent modes of thought with a persistence and daring that calls for admiration. Not for him the unquestioning hero-worship of Nehru, the tacit acceptance of what goes for secularism, the general view that Hinduism is backward and the BJP is an anachronism. As he sees it, ‘a combination of Marxists, Macaulayites and ethnic Pakistanis are undermining the foundations of the Indian nation’ and causing great harm to the nation”.
